Round seven of the 2026 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship brought the series to Duns Motopark, just over the Scottish border β a fitting homecoming round for the team Dyce Carriers is proud to sponsor. In front of home support, both riders delivered when it mattered, with Gyan Doensen taking the overall win and Oriol Oliver marking his return to racing with a solid third.
Practice
Gyan Doensen set the tone early, going second fastest in timed practice, with Oriol Oliver not far behind in fifth.
MX1 (Oriol Oliver)

Oriol grabbed the holeshot in Race One before settling into third behind Mewse and Watson, riding a controlled race to secure third place and build confidence for the rest of the day. In Race Two he again led early from the holeshot, eventually crossing the line third once more, for third overall on the day.
Oriol Oliver: “The plan for the British Championship at Duns was to get as many points as possible for the championship and that is what we did. Riding wise I couldn’t show the best version of myself, but we will take the third overall and move onto the final round.”
MX2 (Gyan Doensen)

Race One saw Gyan produce a standout final lap, passing three riders in the space of two corners to move from sixth to third. In Race Two he made another strong start, working into third early before closing on the leaders late in the moto, ultimately crossing the line second β enough for a 3-2 moto record and the overall race win.
Gyan Doensen: “It was decent day at Duns with back to back wins at the British Championship, the track was very technical and I had some fun racing. A big thank you to the team and I am excited for Sweden this weekend.”
From the Team Manager
Shaun Simpson, Team Manager: “It was great to be back to full force this weekend at Duns with both Gyan and Oriol. The track was in great condition, but the weather was windy and quite cold in comparison to what we’ve been used to for the last few months. Gyan didn’t win a moto but rode strong and calculated in both races finding late pace to come through the pack and secure the overall victory. It’s nice to see Gyan gaining some consistency this last few weeks. It was brilliant to have Oriol back, even though he isn’t 100% he took two great starts and rode steady to finish 3rd on the podium. We couldn’t have asked for more considering he’s been out for the last 3 weeks. We are all looking forward to the next MXGP in Sweden this weekend.”
Championship Standings
- MX2: Gyan Doensen sits second, with a 34-point cushion over third-placed Tommy Searle, with one round remaining.
